aesthetically speaking: african bogolan mud cloth

we love seeing how people incorporate traditional cultural items into contemporary settings! for some, it’s a way of honoring their heritage and for others it’s simply a way of adding character and style to their personal space. one of those items in particular is the african bogolan mud cloth. we love its simplicity and the hand painted geometric lines which give it a graphic, modern feel while still maintaining its rustic nature. lately, we’ve been seeing this motif in both design and fashion, so we wanted to share some of our favorites!
