while working on a nursery project for a client we started to get safaris on the brain.  using the clients preference for deep rich wood tones as a starting off point, we began looking for accents to soften the space; natural materials, worn linens, and other playful textiles.

slowly a theme started to take shape and we began thinking all things british colonial.

the mix of dark sophisticated woods and light tropical accents that define british colonial decor was the exact balance we were looking to achieve.

with our theme in place we sought out further inspiration and stumbled upon singita; a luxury safari experience whose various camps and lodgings not only solidified our concept, they had us packing our bags and dreaming of chic african lodges.

compiling all of our gathered inspiration we put together our british colonial, safari nursery.

the end result? a whimsical space that can also transition as the baby matures.  leather accents, mosquito netting, rich wood tones, and graphic block prints. here’s to baby dreaming of future world travels!
